This past Saturday, May 11th, Life University held the Freestyle and Greco Individual State tournament. Wrestlers from all over the state, ranging from 8U to high school seniors, were in attendance. Top 4 placers in each weight class automatically qualified for Fargo this summer. Let’s take a deeper look at how the kids fared this weekend.
Level Up Wrestling Center continued their dominance they displayed in the men’s brackets on the women’s side of the wrestling world too. Level Up has proven itself to be a model of excellence with 2 champions, 3 second place finishers, and 1 third place.
Wrestlers representing GA finished in 2nd place, but since they are not a club team they do not get counted toward club teams.
In second place for the actual club teams was Roundtree Wrestling Academy. Roundtree finished the day with 29 total points, coming away with 2 champs and 1 runner up.
South Georgia Athletic Club finished in 3rd place for total club points coming in with 28. SGAC had 1 champ and 2 runner ups.
Team Alpha Wrestling came home with 2 silver medals and 1 bronze. Giving them 26 total team points. Good enough for 4th place in team points.
In 5th place was a 5 team tie between 706 Wrestling, Five Star Savannah, GB Wolfpack, Lovett Wrestling, and Troup Wrestling. All 5 teams brought in 10 total team points.
